Do you like surprises? Some people don’t.

I like good surprises. Although to be honest, when good surprises come, sometimes they can be so shocking that it leads you to being an emotional wreck. In this case, good surprises can feel like bad surprises as I experienced a few years ago.

When you listen in to this week’s podcast episode, you will see how surprises come up in the beginning of a relationship. You also get to decide how you will respond when these relationship surprises come up. Or will you respond at all? Part of creating an empowered new chapter of life is using our power of choice. Be blessed!

Until next time,

Katina

The last poem that I wrote was entitled “Faith Without Works”. You can find that poem here. Today’s poem, Broken Pieces, deals with the emotional process of deciding to enter the door of healing: the closed door represents survival mode, and open the opened door represents the door of thriving.

Broken Pieces

Broken Pieces, Broken Pieces

Yes, it’s what you’ve settled for.

There’s no thriving, just surviving.

Door of Healing gives you more.

Door of Healing, Door of Healing.

If I open, what is there?

There is Jesus.

In the fire.

And your pain.

So You’re Aware.

You’ll press in.

You will hurt.

Oh, but then you’ll go so far.

Just keep pressing.

It’s the lesson.

Set the bar.

Now it’s your blessing.

Door Decoration

How would you like to make something fun for your door with less than $5?  Well, that’s what I did this past April.  Recently, I had the idea that I was going to take it down since we are now in the fall season.  However, it just hasn’t happened.  I liked this project for three reasons:

  • the look
  • the price
  • the time

By the way, I purchased all of these materials from Dollar Tree.

Here are the materials that you will need:

home decor, DIY, home design, interior design, table decor, door, blog, decorations, flowers, door wreath
Wreath as a Door Decoration

1 bundle of jute material (optional) $1

1 wreath $1

2 small bundles of fake flowers $2

Total Cost $4.00 + tax

Instructions:

  • Fold the bottom half of each of the flowers stems.
  • Tuck the flower stems into the wreath by placing them in between the individual pieces of the wreath.
  • Tie bows around each of the individual flowers.
  • Hang on your door and enjoy!

Optional:  This wreath can also be used as a table decoration.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
